The Excise Department has nabbed two miscreants from Gopal Nagar area under Awadhpuri police station area and recovered illegally stored 33 bottles of liquor worth Rs 50000 on Saturday.
According to the police, acting of a tip-off raid was conducted at Gopal Nagar and recovered 33 bottles Ashish Giri and Sunny Prajapati .
Police said that the two failed to produce licence regarding the liquor which was found in good quantity and were nabbed. Liquor was kept in two gunny sacks which were seized from the scooter they were carrying . The source from which the two have obtained the liquor remained unknown but it was found that the two have brought liquor from Faridabad Haryana and have also sold in the lockdown at high prices.
A case under section 34 (2) of the Excise Act was registered and further investigation has been started. The two have brought the liquor through Bhopal express on September 18.
The Excise Official Vivek Tripathi said that mobile phones have been seized by the police from their possession and details of the mobile phones would be investigated in the investigation. Crime record of the nabbed accused would be investigated in the further investigation.
The details of the two in the illegal liquor business in the state capital and nearby areas would be investigated as they were working for long period and their aides who have helped them are yet to be revealed.
