Elephant succumbs to injury in Rajaji park

An elephant succumbed to injuries sustained in a clash with another pachyderm in the Rajaji national park.  Haridwar divisional forest officer Neeraj Sharma said that there was a clash between two elephants in the Chilla range. The injured jumbo was rescued by the department from the Ganga river in the Saptrish area but succumbed to injuries late on Tuesday night. The post mortem of the pachyderm was being conducted at the time of this report being filed. The exact cause of death will be known after the post mortem report is received.
