Hard coke plant owners seek permission to operate

Facing financial crisis due to closure owing Covid 19 since the last nine months  coke plant owners have sought permission to restart operation from district administration.

The plants remain closed since localdown was announced.

A delegation of owners led by former Nirsa MLA Arup Chatterjee met Dhanbad deputy commissioner Uma Shankar Singh and requested him to allow operation as owners were facing losses due to closure as they were paying loan interest,salary and electric bills despite closure.

The DC directed ADM law and order Chandan Kumar to hold an inquiry within a week so that any appropriate decision on demand may be taken.

Talking to the media after meeting Deputy commissioner Arup said, the delegation included owners of different plant owners having factories in Nirsa- Chirkunda area.
