Heavy rainfall likely in many parts of State in next 24 hours

The revival of monsoon activities has been witnessed across the State with warnings of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours at several places.

Still the rainfall deficit of the state is 15 percent and for state capital heavy rainfall is not on the cards but rainfall with long intervals has been witnessed for the past three days. The pattern of increase rainfall is witnessed across the state with very few exceptions.

All divisions of the state received rainfall which was due for long as in the season rainfall shied away from several places increasing the deficit. The pattern of weather changed and favourable systems formed inducing good amount of rainfall. As heavy rains continued to lash several parts of state and the regions which recorded good rainfall till Wednesday evening were Ujjain 6 cm, Seoni 4.7 cm, Umaria 2.6 m, Mandla 4 cm, Rewa 1cm, Chhindwara 3.5 cm, Indore 2.8 cm, Guna 4. 2cm, Sagar 1 cm.

Patharia recorded 10 cm in the past 24 hours, Gohparu, Kolaras and Bheempur recorded 9 cm in the same period of time. According to the forecast Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Shahdol, Jabalpur,  Gwalior, Chambal and Rewa divisions are likely to receive thunder showers and thundery activities.

The Met department has issued warning of very heavy rainfall in Seoni, Dewas and Dhar districts while warning of heavy rainfall and thunder lightening has been issued for Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Chhindwara, Mandla, Balaghat, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Vidisha, Raisen,Betul, Khandwa, Khargoan, Alirajpur, Badwani, Jhabua, , Indore, Ujjain, Guna, Datia, Rajgarh, Neemuch Mandsaur, Umaria, Ratlam, Gwalior, Ashok Gwalior, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri districts.
