In view of surge of COVID-19 cases in the state, Himachal Government on Tuesday issued an order for the state employees to stop the spread of infection.
A day before, the government had decided to restrict the attendance of class-III and IV government employees to 50 percent. 50 percent employees would attend office for three days and remaining 50 percent for next three days till December 31.
As per the order issued on Tuesday, all class I and class II officers under Himachal Pradesh government will attend the office on all working days. Polling of official vehicles shall be done to the extent possible.
In all offices, the attendance and timings of class III, class IV (contractual/regular), part-time, daily wagers, and outsourced employees shall be staggered by the controlling officers.
Roster of employees shall be prepared by the controlling officers in such a manner that 50 percent of the employees will attend the office for three consecutive working days and the remaining will work from their home, so far as is practicable, the order said.
The employees, who are persons with disability and require assistance of other persons to reach the workplace, shall be exempted from attending office.
The employees, who do not attend office on any particular day, shall not leave the situation, be available on telephone or other means of communication and will attend office, if called for any exigency of work, the order said.
The wages or emoluments of such employees shall not be deducted for the days of non-reporting in offices. The timings of arrival and departure of employees reporting for duties will also be staggered in order to prevent overcrowding enroute and in the offices by forming two groups, the order added.
