Jharkhand Pradesh Professional Congress (JPPC), president Aditya Vikram Jaiswal, on Wednesday wrote a letter to the Agriculture and Cooperative Minister, Badal, to catch his attention on recruitment of Agricultural Officers and other important issues.

Through the letter Jaiswal also pointed out some important issues related to the Agriculture Department.

The JPPC Chief said that according to the newspapers during the tenure of the previous BJP Government (2017-18, 2018-19), the agricultural officials have spent Rs 20 crores without departmental approval from the Agriculture Department and now the officials are claiming to receive the money from the Government. He said that in 12 districts of the State, 50 per cent of the land has become acidic and farming cannot take place in these parts of land. There is a shortage of required fertility in the land so it is adversely affecting crop production.

Jaisawal said that the State Government recruited Agricultural Service Officers in the year 1990 and after this, a few officers have been recruited in different categories for the same period so far. "More than two-thirds of the posts in the State are vacant and by the year 2023-24, there will be only one dozen officers. At present, 100 officers are employed in 300 identified posts of Agricultural Services. Keeping shortage of Agricultural Officials in mind the Department should immediately start recruitment," he added.

Jaiswal gave his suggestion to the Agriculture Minister, that under which circumstances the Agriculture Officer should implement the schemes without departmental approval, for this, set up an inquiry committee so that the reality can be known and the Minister's reputation in the eyes of the people of the State to remain clean. "A special campaign should be launched throughout the State to make the farming land acid free so that the farmers can increase their production. Students in agricultural colleges are studying agricultural subjects, about three thousand students are getting unemployed after passing from these institutes, for such students, take out department special recruitments and add them to the job," said Jaisawal.
