To give relief to farmers who have been affected in many ways due to Covid-19 crisis, the State Government has increased the kharif loan target from Rs 7,500 crore to Rs 9,000 crore, to be provided by the cooperative agencies.
Cooperation Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain informed this here on Thursday.
Marginal farmers, migrants and self-help groups would be given priority. Besides, short-term credits would be disbursed for fisheries, animal husbandry and poultry farming, he said.
He informed that crop loan of Rs 5,000 crore would be provided by June-end and the rest Rs 4,000 crore to be disbursed during the second FY quarter ending September.
