A lecture and Kathak Dance presentation by Mayura Pandit Khatavkar, and Ustad Alauddin Khan Music and Arts Academy was held on Monday under the 'Gamak' series at Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum.
Mayura Pandit started the presentation with his lecture- He said that Kathak was born by telling stories, storytellers used to sing the saga of god in the temples, gradually instruments were included in it, then gradually dance was incorporated and Kathak originated from there. Referring to the Raigad style, he said that in this, both the rhythm and the emotional aspect are given equal importance.
Mayura started the dance with the praise of Maa Durga in the form of Adi Jagat Janani Shakti, followed by the presentation of Tritala pure Kathak in the Raigad style choreographed by senior Guru Pandit Ramlal, Samvare Aajayo - A gopika's loving devotion to Krishna. , Tarana and Thumri - Abolished her performance with the lead actress.
Mayura started learning Kathak dance from the age of eight years from the dance guru Pandit Ramlalji of Raigad Gharana. He received his Ph. D. in Kathak from Indira Kala Sangeet University. D.D. You have made your presentation on many prestigious forums in India and abroad. Currently in Mumbai, she is teaching Kathak to over ninety students.
