Mandi Samiti to open new wholesale vegetables and fruits markets in Doon

The Dehradun Mandi Samiti is planning to open some new wholesale vegetables and fruits markets in the  city once the situation gets back to normal after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Last month, when  Niranjanpur Mandi was closed subsequent to several wholesalers being found positive for Covid-19 there, deliveries of vegetable supplies were restricted in the areas. Due to this restriction, many local vegetable and fruit vendors were bound to buy supplies from wholesale market of Haridwar, Rishikesh and some other areas that added extra cost to their expenses which led to hiked prices of vegetables and fruits for common people.

In order to avoid such issue in future,  president of Dehradun Mandi Samiti, Rajesh Sharma said, "The Samiti has marked some places in city.
