As part of marking World Children's Day monuments and buildings are going blue, first one to go is the historic fort of Mandu, followed by the District Hospital of Dhar. Go blue is a global movement of UNICEF for raising discourse on children issues, and requesting monuments and organisations to go blue, meaning light monuments and buildings to be lighted blue.

As part of the request by UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh, Archaeological Survey of India on the request and as part of its commitment is supporting in lighting  parts of Mandu and Gwalior Fort as blue, while district hospital Dhar on the push by district Collector has gone blue.

MP Tourism is going to make all its 65 properties across MP as blue like Minto Hall, Sair Sapata in Bhopal blue. Bhopal Municipal Corporation will illuminate Bhopal Gate, Raja Bhoj Setu and Lake road and its offices as blue as part of their commitment to the cause.

But something different at ground, two villages of Dhar (in Mandu) namely Kinaripura, and Gopalpura in Jhabua, will be going blue meaning houses in the village are painting houses as blue and using messages of new born care, immunisation, saying no to child marriage and climate change on the walls of the homes newly painted.

This involved engaging people in the village to understand the issue and commit to supporting it. This is being done by district administration in partnership with youth volunteers and communities at the village.

UNICEF Communication Specialist Anil Gulati shares that this is part of the overall theme of GoBlue and spreading information on key issues of child rights and climate change and overall advocacy for child rights.
