Two more seal off in wake of Covid-19 were done in Palamu today taking the total number of containment zones to slightly above half a dozen but the general health scenario here in the district is stable and the fear of Covid-19 is minimal, officials said.

Civil surgeon Dr John F Kennedy said on Sunday that under order of DC cum chairman of district disaster management authority Shantanu Kumar Agrahari, a private hospital in Daltonganj and one petrol pump in Chhaterpur have been sealed.

Kennedy said there had come a patient in this private hospital a day ago who has now tested positive for Covid 19. His health condition is good.

The petrol pump in Chhaterpur has been sealed off as its owner has tested positive.

Kennedy said the first containment here in Daltonganj had begun with a locality Sudna where he said there is every good sign on health parameter calling for disbanding of seal off soon.

Kennedy said all of a sudden Palamu’s Harihurganj block came in focus where there were raised more containment areas than expected here. He avoided to give numbers of the containment zones here.

Kennedy said there is a reason behind this.

Harihurganj is just meters away from Bihar state and here in our CHC ( community health centre) Harihurganj there come patients of places of Bihar like Amba, Kutamba etc and they crowd our CHC for treatment of their ailments.

Sources said one Bihar man here faking to be of Harihurganj even got tested for Covid 19 who later turned out to be positive. Kennedy said this man had lied to our health officials at our CHC here.

 Sources said the sudden rise in number of positive cases in Harihurganj could be due to the influx of patients from Bihar here and on Saturday July 11 district administration has sealed Palamu’s border with Bihar at this juncture.

Sources said a couple of CRPF personnel and a chowkidar here to have tested positive said SP Ajay Linda.

Kennedy said we have hop of lifting these seal off tags here at Harihurganj very soon.

Agrahari has asked people to wear mask and not to take things in a manner that jeopardizes life.
