Pillars of democracy work without conflicts: Speaker

Friday, 27 November 2020 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

The rights and obligations of the legislatures, judiciary and executives are mentioned in the Indian Constitution. The expectation from all of us is that we serve the nation with full loyalty, honesty and our ability, said Speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Rameshwar Sharma at the two-day 80th All India Presiding Officers Conference held at Kevadia, Gujarat.

He said that everyone has their rights and responsibilities, considering that it is not necessary to create a situation of conflict between these pillars of democracy.

Presiding officers of Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and Legislative Assemblies of the country are participating in the two-day conference organized by the Lok Sabha

Secretariat.

The ideal coordination of Legislature, Executive and Judiciary for strong democracy was discussed in the workshop on the second day of the conference. Most of the members of Parliament and Vidhan Sabha come through some political party. They are associated with the ideology of that party, but after taking the oath of office, the elected people's representative should work for the welfare of the people and the development of the State in the same manner. Similarly, at times it is also visible that the Legislature starts protecting the Executive. The executives work should be reviewed on merits.

Sharma also described the House about the innovative initiative of organizing a virtual Assembly in the corona era by the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He informed that Madhya Pradesh Assembly is converting towards e-governance in swift manner.

On the 71st Constitution Day in Kevadia, President of India Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of faithfulness to the Constitution.
