State’s oldest university, Ranchi University, on Sunday celebrated its 60th foundation day.
The university administration on the occasion celebrated the day by planting saplings at its Morhabadi campus. On the occasion, RU Vice Chancellor Ramesh Kumar Pandey, Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Kamini Kumar, CCDC Dr Lal Girja Shankar Nath Shahdev, Director Multipurpose Examination Hall Ashok Kumar Singh and several teachers planted saplings and vowed to make the university green campus.
The officials and teachers on the occasion urged the people especially students to make balance with environment by planting more and more trees. The teachers said that most of problem people are facing today are due to disturbing ecological balance. Established in 1960, the university has its jurisdiction in five districts of Jharkhand — Ranchi, Gumla, Khunti, Simdega and Lohardaga.
