Rotary Heritage plants 5K saplings

The Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Heritage (RCBH) distributed facemasks among 200 construction workers and planted 5,000 saplings to improve green cover in the capital city.

The club in association with the ODM Public Schoool, Patia organised the plantation drive at its adopted Bhalunka village and nearby Daruthenga area on July 7 to mark a Bana Mahotsav.

OMD chairman Dr Satyabrata Minaketan and Rotarians Bidhu Bhusan Samanta, Ramchandra Sahoo, Bikram Kesari Roy, Rishipal Singh, Indumati Ray and Dr AT Mishra were present.

They distributed 200 washable facemasks to 100 construction workers at Daruthenga. Rotarian Ashok Kumar Tripathy guided all these progammes

During the Covid lockdown, the club had distributed dry rations, masks, soap, sarees, dhotis, towels and umbrellas among poor tribal people in the area.
