Tuesday, 24 November 2020 | PNS | Dehradun

The state government has declared the ongoing year as zero year for transfers but has opened a window for the employees suffering from serious diseases, parents of especially abled and those having some serious issue. As per the rules the transfer of these employees would be made under rule 27 of transfers act. The education department of the state is now grappling with the enormous number of transfer applications of teachers made under the rule 27. The department has received more than 3500 transfer applications of the teachers. The department has forwarded these applications to the state administration. Now after scrutiny at the state administration level, these applications would be placed before the chief secretary. It is worth mentioning here that to give relief to the teachers who genuinely need transfer in the zero transfer year, the education secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram had directed the education department to seek applications from eligible teachers under section 27.

In response to the department’s order, a large number of teachers applied for the transfers. It is learnt that about 1500 applications are of primary teachers and remaining of the Licensed Teachers (LT) and lecturers.

The secretary has made it clear that the department would check the eligibility of the teachers for transfers and the officials would be held responsible for the transfers.
