Three persons held for running IPL betting racket

Chhattisgarh Police on Sunday arrested three persons for operating an IPL betting racket from a house in the state capital.

Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Yadav told The Pioneer that the arrested men are Rakesh Meghani (28), Kushal Jain (27) and Rahul Khatri (25), all residents of Raipur.

Police seized three mobile phones, a laptop, Rs 33,500 in cash and betting records detailing transactions of more than Rs 1 crore from them, Yadav said.

They had bet on the IPL match played between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals on Saturday night from the house in the Azad Chowk police station limits in Raipur, the officer added.

Police have arrested 30 persons so far for operating IPL betting rackets in Raipur.
