Two held for supplying liquor amid lockdown

As Delhi is facing complete lockdown in view of Covid-19, the Delhi Police has arrested two bootleggers and recovered 884 quarters of illicit liquor from their possession.

The duo has been identified as, Bablu (25) and Monu (21), both resident of Vikas Nagar, Delhi.

According to Sharat Kumar Sinha, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Police Control Room (PCR) unit, on Tuesday early morning, a police team on Mobile Patrol Van (MPV) were patrolling in Ranhola area when they saw a car being  driven in a suspicious manner.

"The police team signalled the car driver to stop but he tried to flee away. The vehicle was stopped after a brief chase. While checking of the vehicle police team found illicit liquor bottles in the car," said the DCP.

"The accused alongwith recovered illicit liquor and seized car were handed over to local police of Ranhola police station. Th3 accused Bablu is also found previously involved in a similar cases," the DCP added.
