Vishwarang Film fest concludes with Santoor Vadan

The fourth and last day of Vishwarang Film festival started with Shruti Adhikari's Santoor Playing. The first session of the day was hosted by Sudeep Sohini.In the beginning of the programme, Shruti Adhikari mesmerized everyone with her santoor playing during Manglacharan. Following, presentation of films started. The first film to be showcased was, classic film ‘Gulzar’. This film is directed by Meghana Gulzar along with literature Academy. The film is about the famous lyricist Gulzar and how he brought changes to the world of Bollywood, Indian poetries and song writing.

After the completion of the programme, short films were presented. Further, the master class programme was joined by Filmmaker and Archivist Shivendra Singh Dungrpur. Film producer, director and writer Sudeep Sohani talked about 'The need of preserving Cinema's inheritance’. In the end of the programme, specially invited film 'The Immortals' was presented. The programme continued with the closing ceremony in which the directors of winning films were awarded and also had a conversation with the host. Vishwarang's director Santosh Chaubey and co-director Siddhartha Chaturvedi along with Nitin Vats talked to the directors and awarded them.

The first prize was grabbed by Nainisha Dedhiya directed Indian film, 'Piraana'. Pandeli Kako's film 'The White sheets' grabbed second, and Seral Murmu's 'Sondhayani' grabbed the third prize. Renowned cinematographer, director and five time national prize winner director Rajendra Jaangle was the chairman of the Jury. Accompanied by Film festival's Curator, film programmer and Indi Cinema's promoter Mauli Singh, Dharma Productions creative executive Shreya Bhattacharya, senior journalist and Tagore film festival's director Vinay Upadhyay, Filmmaker Sandeep Sohani, National award winning director Dinesh Yadav and Filmmaker Ashok Kumar Meena in the jury members.
