A webinar on HIV prevention was organized on the occasion of "Global solidarity and shared responsibility" was geld on Tuesday. The webinar was held to observe World Aids Day.
World AIDS Day was observed jointly with NSS, Red Ribbon Club and Madhya Pradesh AIDS Control Society by the Department of Nursing and Paramedical Science of Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal.
In this webinar, Prashant Malaiya, Deputy Director, Madhya Pradesh AIDS Control Society, Bhopal was present as the keynote speaker. On this occasion, Malaiya said that World AIDS Day is celebrated every year from 1988 on December 1 which aims to create awareness about AIDS epidemic due to the spread of HIV infection.
Sharing the data of Madhya Pradesh, he informed the students about HIV testing. He said that HIV infection can affect a person of any age. Today it is necessary to raise awareness among people about AIDS.
Vijay Singh, Registrar Rabindranath Tagore University was specially present in the webinar. He described AIDS as one of the major health problems of the modern era. He said that World AIDS Day is an opportunity for people all over the world to unite in the fight against HIV. We can all contribute to the effort to end AIDS.
The webinar was also addressed by Dr. CP Mishra, Dean Paramedical, Dr. Manisha Gupta, Principal and Head of Department of Nursing, Dr. Rekha Gupta, Dean Education Department and Program Officer NSS. At the end of the webinar, Dr. Avinash Singh, Head of the Department of Paramedical Department proposed the vote of thanks.
