Youth fest to enthrall audiences from tomorrow

Inauguration of three-day long grand gala state-level youth fest will be done on Sunday. There will be a confluence of youth’s talent, skill, energy and enthusiasm in it.

This year at the State-level Youth Festival, mesmerizing performances of Chhattisgarhi folk music and folk dance such as Karma, Raut nacha, Panthi, Sarhul, Suva, Danda, Bastariya dance will be staged along with classical music such as Hindustani style, Carnatic style, classical dance such as Katthak, Odyssey, Kuchipudi, Manipuri, Bharatnatyam.

Also, for the first time, Chhattisgarhi food festival will also be organised at the youth fest. On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, the state’s Sports and Youth Welfare Department is organising the three-day youth event from January 12.

The youth fest will be inaugurated at the main stage built in Directorate of Sports premise in capital city Raipur at 10am. As many as 821 different performances will be staged on the occasion.

On the first day of the event, folk dance Karma Nacha will be staged at the main stage of Sports Directorate premise, and Raut Nacha will be presented at the open stage and another folk dance will be staged at the  second stage.

Essay and painting     competitions will be organised from 1pm to 6pm in the hall of Directorate of Sports. From 1pm to 6.30pm, competitions of folk music, classical Hindustani and Carnatic music, guitar and sitar playing will be organised at Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium.

At Pt Ravishankar Shukla University, monologues will be staged from 1pm to 7pm, and Tabla playing competition will be held in Science College Auditorium from 1pm to 8pm. Sports competition will be organised at the open ground in the university campus.

On January 13, folk dance Sarhul will be staged at the main stage of Directorate of Sports premise from 9am to 7pm, Suva dance, Danda naach will be staged at second stage, and Panthi, Bastariha dance will be performed at the open stage. At Pt Deendayal Auditorium, Kathak, Odyssey, Kuchipudi, Manipuri dance competitions,  Bharatnatyam and traditional costume competitions, and flute playing competition will be organized from 9am to 6pm.

Likewise from 9am to 9pm at Pt Ravishankar Shukla University Auditorium, monologue competition, will be held and from 9am to 6pm at Science College Auditorium, harmonium, mridangam and veena playing competition will be organized.

Similarly, on the concluding day, rock band performance will be staged at the main stage, and other competitions will be held at the open stage, while final round of quiz competition will be held in the hall from 10am to 12pm.
