Government-owned Power Finance Corporation (PFC) announced the appointment of Parminder Chopra as Director (Finance) of the company. She succeeds NB Gupta, who superannuated on June 30. With over 32 years of rich and varied experience, she specialises in handling crucial and core finance functions such as fund mobilisation, corporate accounts, banking and treasury, asset-liability management, stressed asset resolution.

Metro Railway has developed a user-friendly method of recharging smart cards online for its commuters. In order to avail this facility, smart card users will have to visit Metro Railway Kolkata website and click on the ‘online recharge’ option. No transaction charges have to be paid. However, they will continue to get a 10 per cent bonus on the  recharging amount of their smart cards as earlier. Manoj Joshi, General Manager, Metro Railway, said that it will fulfill long standing demand of online recharging of smart cards. He also thanked State Bank of India and CRIS for their support and cooperation
