Food Corporation of India is apex central agency for procurement of food grains at Minimum Support Price. It procures food grains directly from farmers and issues it to the State Government to provide food grains to the beneficiaries.
FCI has procured 23.40 lakh metric tonnes of wheat during the Rabi marketing year 2021-22 in the State under Minimum Support Price, which is the highest ever wheat procurement in the Rajasthan Region. Food Corporation of India, in collaboration with the State Govt, has created a new record of wheat procurement in the state by purchasing more than the prescribed target of wheat procurement despite the adverse circumstances arising during the pandemic. In view of bumper production of wheat in the state, the predetermined procurement target was increased from 22 lakh metric tonnes to 23.25 lakh metric tonnes.
