CBSE optional exams may be conducted in August: Edu Min

Saturday, 26 June 2021 | PNS | New Delhi

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Friday said  the CBSE optional exams may be conducted in August or any other later date, in case the situation is conducive. He has also insisted that the safety of the students is paramount to the government.

“If you are not happy with the assessment method, don't worry. We are ready to conduct opional exams...in August. Your health is our top priority,” Nishank said in a recorded video message to the students, teachers and guardians.

Nishank assured that the students would be allowed to write and improve their scores in case they are not happy with the result. Notably, the address of the minister which was to be a live interactive could not be conducted as the doctors advised him against taking the stress while he is recuperating post covid.

The Minister's message was then shared as a recorded one to the disappointment of those waiting to discuss and question the Education Minister related to CBSE, Board exams and other entrance and academic sessions. Nishank had announced a day earlier that he will be doing a live interactive session through social media platforms.

Nishank thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also shared that he is happy that the students have got an appropriate solution regarding the class 10 and 12 board examinations.

“I am thankful to the Supreme Court for upholding CBSE's assessment criteria,”  said Nishank.
