Abu Dhabi's Etihad Airways will resume flights from New Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Bengaluru and Trivandrum from August 7 as the United Arab Emirates recently relaxed some travel restrictions from people travelling from India. It also said that from 10 August, flights will be added from Ahmedabad (for transit only), Hyderabad and Mumbai in India. This does not mean that travelers from India will now be allowed to travel to Dubai, as the UAE government has not completely lifted the travel restriction on India. UAE citizens and transit passengers from India are now allowed to travel to the UAE.
Flights from Indian cities to Sharjah and Dubai already started on August 5.
UAE residents, students and professionals working for UAE government agencies are now allowed to travel to the country. Incoming travellers must also take a PCR test on day four and day eight,” the airline said.
Among other conditions, travellers from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will need to quarantine for 10 days on arrival in Abu Dhabi and “wear a medically approved wristband for the duration of your quarantine (that) will be provided by the authorities at Abu Dhabi airport after you clear immigration.
UAE recently allowed some more categories of travellers from India and five other countries starting August 5.
