Opp parties in Delhi discuss action plan
After day-long detention, AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and several other Congress leaders were arrested on Tuesday for trying to march towards Lakhimpur Kheri even as the Opposition parties in Delhi discussed an action plan to corner the Yogi Government over the violence in which four farmers were crushed to death on Sunday.
Besides Priyanka, State Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu, Congress MP Deepender Hooda, national secretary Dheeraj Gurjar, Youth Congress national president BV Srinivas, party MLC Deepak Singh were taken into preventive custody.
Priyanka claimed that she had been detained for the last 28 hours without any order or FIR, which the Congress alleged that drones were being used to monitor the movement of Priyanka at PAC guest house.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel tweeted a video of drones monitoring. “Who will take responsibility, whose drone is this and why,” he tweeted.
Congress MP Deepender Hooda who accompanied Priyanka on way to Lakhimpur Kheri and is on detention, in a tweet said, “Those who mowed down farmers are free and we are in detention for over 36 hours. Farmer families are mourning and the Government is celebrating in Lucknow. I wish to ask fellow Indians whether they will support those who ran over farmers or those fighting against this violence.”
In Delhi, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and asked for a joint Opposition action plan to take on the BJP both at Centre and State Uttar Pradesh.
