‘Medical student was thrown alive in Patratu dam’

Even after two days, when Pooja Bharti's body, student of Hazaribagh Medical College,  was found at Patratu Lake police is yet to get a breakthrough in the case. Till the time of filing of the report the district police said that the investigation is going on and very soon the police will reach any conclusion. Bharti was a resident of Godda district of the State.

Ramgarh Superintendent of Police (SP), Prabhat Kumar said that the investigation is going on to find out the reason of Bharti's death and the police will very soon crack the case and find out reason of her death. At present the police can't give information in connection with the case, he added. 

The body of a medical student was found with tied hand and foot on Tuesday in Patratu Dam in Ramgarh. Kumar said that the post mortem report after finding the dead body, that showed that the Bharati died due to drowning in water.

"After the post-mortem report, it is being speculated that Pooja was thrown alive in the water with her hands and legs tied. Doctors said that no injury marks have been found on the body. This shows that the medical student was not assaulted," said Kumar.

Hazaribagh DIG has formed a 16 member Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the leadership of Ramgarh SP. Hazaribagh Medical Hostel was also thoroughly investigated by Hazaribagh SP and Ramgarh SP, so that the case could be disclosed.

On Wednesday night, Agriculture Minister Badal reached the house of Pooja Bharati, in Godda. While meeting with her family members, Badal said that in every situation, the family of the deceased will get justice. The police are determined to find the reason for her with full vigor, he added.

The Minister's latter said that this incident is unfortunate. He claimed that the police will solve the murder case within 48 hours. "Hemant Sarkar is committed to women's safety. In view of the seriousness of the case, a 16-member investigation team has been formed,” he added.
