Mamata Padhi who was recently transferred to Gurandi CHC, as public health extension officer from Khajuripada CHC, arranged vaccinations for transgenders. On Tuesday, in presence of ADMO Gajapati, Dr Mahemmad Sirajuddin Munir, 14 persons belonging to transgenders were vaccinated at Gandhi Memorial School, Paralakhemundi. She made efforts to get them registered individually at vaccination centre. Madhu Barada, a transgender, said, "We are indebted to Mamata ma'am who helped in getting us vaccinated. We are normally ignored by society, but Mamata ma'am showed us empathy."
