The Dighaphandi police in Ganjam district on Thursday arrested two persons for collection thousands of rupees from more than 200 persons for getting them registered in the District Labour Office. The two accused were Vikash Kumar Pradhan and Kanhu Bisoyi, who claimed themselves as the president and secretary of "B-1 Construction Labour Association," respectively
The police arrested the duo based on the complaint of District Labour Officer Babu Charan Patra. The duo had collected Rs 320 to Rs 400 each from victims, said Brahmapur ASP Prabhat Routray. All incriminating documents, registration form, Cash Book and the register have been seized. .
