Over 200 Covid-19 patients tested positive for the virus on Friday, taking the total number of Covid cases in Jharkhand close to 1,16,436 figures compiled by the National Health Mission (NHM) stated.
Jharkhand’s recovery rate on the day reached 97.84 per cent after 207 fresh cases of infection surfaced against 188 recoveries, a daily bulletin released by the NHM highlighted. The national Covid-19 recovery rate, as per government data, was 96.40 per cent on Friday.
While positive cases outnumbered the number of recoveries, the Covid toll in the state also increased as two more patients from Ranchi and Dhanbad died during treatment in 24 hours. As per government data, as many as 1043 people have died of Covid-19 in Jharkhand so far, and at least 222 of them were from Ranchi. The Covid mortality rate in Jharkhand was 0.89 per cent against the national average of 1.40 per cent.
According to the report in Jharkhand today 12 persons were found infected from Bokaro, 3 from Deoghar, 29 from Dhanbad, 1 from Dumka, 17 from East Singhbhum, 2 from Garhwa, 2 from Giridih, 6 from Godda, 3 from Gumla, 2 from Hazaribagh, 2 from Khunti, 3 from Koderma, 3 from Latehar, 2 from Lohardaga, 10 from Palamu, 102 from Ranchi, 3 from Seraikela, 2 from Simdega and 4 from West Singhbhum.
Around 707 people were battling the infection in Ranchi, while 165 were undergoing treatment in East Singhbhum on Tuesday. So far, the government has collected swab samples of 49.76 lakh people and tested 49.16 lakh of them. Of the over 49 lakh people tested, 1,16,436 were found infected.
On Tuesday, health workers across Jharkhand tested swab samples of 13,870 people and more than one per cent of them were found infected. At least 1,465 people were battling the virus across the State by the end of Tuesday, Government data stated.
