4 killed by train, CM directs probe

Four persons are reported to have died on the Laksar-Haridwar railway track when a train was undertaking trial on Thursday following the double tracking of the stretch. According to sources, the train was moving at over 100 kilometres per hour as part of the trial when the mishap occurred about 200 metres from the Jamalpur crossing. Expressing grief at the deaths, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has directed the Haridwar district magistrate to conduct a magisterial probe of the accident.
