Noted freedom fighter, Dadhichi Sahoo (98) of Kaipada village under Bari block of Jajpur district died on Tuesday evening. He had worked with eminent freedom fighters like Malati Choudhury, Nabakrushna Choudhury, Harekrushna Mahtab, Gopabandhu Choudhury, Rama Devi during the freedom movement.
Sahoo was felicitated by the President of India in 2015,.
2017 and 2019 on the eve of Independence Day. Twelve years back, he participated in the reenactment of the historic Mahatma Gandhi’s
Padayatra of 1934 in the village to observe the 75th anniversary of the march.
Jajpur Collector Chakravarti Singh Rathore, former Minister Prafulla Ghadai, Bari MLA Sunanda Das, among others, condoled Sahoo’s death. His body was consigned to flames at his village crematorium.
