AAP plans Chanakya Vichar Sammelans to counter Prabuddha Sammelans

Friday, 10 September 2021 | PNS | Lucknow

To counter the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Prabuddha Sammelan (intellectual meet), Aam Aadmi Party will organise ‘Chanakya Vichar Sammelan’ from October 3 starting from Lucknow.

AAP Rajya Sabha member and UP incharge Sanjay Singh on Thursday said the party would organise the ‘Chanakya Vichar Sammelan’ to fight for Brahmins who, he alleged, were subjected to oppressive measures in the BJP government, and avenge their insult.

He said the Chanakya Vichar Sammelans would be held in Varanasi, Prayagraj, Meerut, Agra, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Gorakhpur and other big cities in the UP.

He alleged that about 500 Brahmins were killed during the BJP rule. “As the elections are near, the BJP is organising the Prabuddha Sammelan to garner the support of the Brahmins in the assembly election in 2022,” he said.

Singh said AAP had raised the issues relating to torture of Brahmins from time to time in the past and would continue to do so in the future also.

“When we were fighting for the rights of Brahmins, the rest of the political parties were silent on the issue and now they are organising intellectual meets,” he taunted.

Singh said insult to the Brahmin community would be the reason for the downfall of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh.

“To avenge the insult to the Brahmins, the AAP will organise the Chanakya Vichar Sammelan in Lucknow on October 3 and such meetings will be held in some other districts of UP also. The meeting will be headed by AAP’s state president (intellectual cell), Hari Shanker Pandey,” Singh said while addressing newsmen in Lucknow.

He cited examples to buttress his claim. “In the four-and-a-half years of Yogi Adityanath rule, over 500 Brahmins have been killed. A class 12 student, Prabhat Mishra, was killed in a police encounter while Khusi Dubey and three other women were jailed for no fault,” he claimed.

Singh also spoke at length on issues relating to law and order, fake encounters, rickety health services, dilapidated schools, tyrannical measures against shiksha mitras, unemployed youths and land scam in Ram temple and Jal Jeevan Mission.l
