Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that Punjab’s women are happy with his announcement made under social security to give Rs 1,000 every month to empower them, but the leaders of the Congress, BJP, and Akali Dal are worried and constantly bashing AAP.

“All the mothers, sisters, and grandmothers of Punjab are very happy with the announcement. The people are constantly calling me and praising it happily. But the world's biggest scheme of women empowerment has given sleepless nights to the Congress, Akali Dal, and the BJP,” said Kejriwal adding that after this announcement, the leaders of these parties are continuously abusing him.

Accusing the Congress, BJP, and the Akali Dal of looting, Kejriwal said that the leaders of the previous governments filled their houses by looting public money. “These leaders emptied Punjab’s treasury of Punjab. We will save their loot money and give Rs 1,000 every month to our mothers and sisters,” he said.

Reverting to the questions of the Akali-Congress, Kejriwal said that the treasury of Punjab will not be empty by giving Rs 1,000 every month to empower our mothers and sisters. “Punjab’s treasury has been emptied due to corruption and loot prevailing in the present and previous governments. We will end this loot and empower our mothers and sisters with the same money,” he said.

Notably, Kejriwal, during his recent visit to Punjab, had announced to give Rs 1,000 per month to all the women of Punjab, above the age of 18 years, if AAP’s government is formed. “If there is more than one woman in a house, everyone will get Rs 1,000 per month. If a woman is already getting an old age pension or widow pension, she will get the amount in addition to it,” Kejriwal had clarified while making the announcement.
