BJP terms Congress’ farmer-love as eye wash

Saturday, 16 January 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

State BJP on Friday took a dig at Congress party’s Kishan Adhikar Diwas claiming that grand old party’s farmers’ love is just an eye wash. State BJP president, Deepak Prakash addressing a press conference at party office said that Congress party is organizing Kishan Adhikar Diwas protesting against the three agriculture laws with an aim to become well wisher of farmers, but in reality the State Government is anti-farmers.

Prakash said, “The State Government, which claims to be well wisher of farmers has done nothing for farmers but has stopped various farmers’ welfare schemes initiated by erstwhile Raghubar Das government.” Prakash targeted the present government for closing Mukhyamantri Krishi Aashirwad Yojana launched by the Raghubar Das led government, under which Rs 5000 was provided per acre with a maximum Rs 25,000 for five acres to farmers.

The Mukhyamantri  Krishi Aashirwad Yojana was launched by Das government in 2019, but it was stopped when the new government came to power.

The State BJP president said that the present government has cheated farmers as the JMM/Congress government had promised to waive farmers loan amounting to Rs 2 lakh, but the government has announced to waive farm loan only upto Rs 50,000. He also said that in the present government the role of middlemen has gone up with farmers left with no other alternative but to shell their produce at Rs 1100 to Rs 1200 per quintal of paddy against the announced MSP of Rs 2050.  Prakash said that Congress party’s Kishan Adhikar Diwas is minus farmers as there are only Congress leaders and workers who have gone there for getting photographed.

He also said that the Centre has provided Rs 270 crore to State Government to fight against Corona pandemic but the State government has failed to even issue utilization certificate to Centre. Prakash was accompanied by BJP national spokesperson Syed Zafar Islam, BJP state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo, State Media in-charge Shivpujan Pathak and others.

Meanwhile, the BJP national spokesperson heaped praise and congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching the world’s largest and cheapest vaccination campaign. He said, “The leadership of the glorious Prime Minister is amazing that India has prepared the cheapest vaccine in the world. 3 crore will be vaccinated in the first phase and 27 crore population in the second phase.” According to the prescribed protocol, the first vaccine will be given to healthcare workers i.e. doctors, nurses, paramedics and health professionals.

After this, vaccination will be given to about two crore frontline workers i.e. state policemen, paramilitary forces, military, medical workers at the priority level.

After this, the vaccine will be given to those above 50 and those below 50 who are suffering from some serious disease. Priority will be given to areas where Covid 19 infection is high.
