The Management of SAIL- Bokaro Steel Plant has undertaken a major initiative for “Safety Culture Transformation”, with an objective to improve Safety Performance at the Plant Level. BSL has appointed a well reputed Safety Consultant “ASK-EHS Engineering & Consultants Pvt Ltd to facilitate, handhold, train and provide a Road Map to successfully achieve “Safety Cultural Transformation” at BSL. This major Safety initiative cum Cultural drive has been named by BSL as Project “KAVACH”. As the term reflects, it is Protection against Hazards and Risks at the workplace. The entire objective of Project KAVACH is to mitigate workplace hazards, through Safe Behavior by all employees and Contract employees. Safe Behaviour is the most effective “Kavach” against hazards and risks at a workplace.
As a part of this major initiative “Integrated Organization Structure (IOS)” for Governance has been developed. ISO is a multilayer Committee Structure having APEX Committee as the top Committee. One of the major milestones, the formation of Apex Committee was carried out successfully and the First Apex Committee Meeting was organized at Director Incharge Office.
