C'garh issues precautions for Covid vaccination

The Chhattisgarh health department has issued rules and precautions for Covid vaccination officially beginning on January 16 (Saturday) in the state.

Covid vaccines will not be administered to pregnant women and new mothers feeding their babies. Also, children below 18 years of age will not receive vaccine doses, an official press release said.

In case after administering the first dose of Covishield, the person develops any anaphylactic reaction or allergy, then the second dose will not be administered.

Any person who has active Covid symptoms or is Covid positive will receive vaccination after four to eight weeks. Ditto for Covid positive persons who have been given convalescent plasma or anti-Sars Cov 2 monoclonal antibodies.

Unhealthy people on medication and hospitalised persons will also receive vaccine after they are fit. Also, people who are anaemic or have blood clotting problems will be given vaccine with extra caution.
