Exhorting people to go for vaccination against COVID-19, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that vaccination was a campaign through which a decisive battle could be successfully fought against this deadly disease to secure the life of every citizen.
While inspecting the Tika Utsav campaign at Shakti Bhawan here on Sunday, the chief minister said that every person above the age of 45, who had not taken the vaccine, should get registered at the vaccination centre and be a part of the vaccination campaign.
Yogi said the Covid vaccine was safe and was a big tool in protecting people from the novel coronavirus and so everyone who was in the eligible category should go for vaccination.
"Caution is very important even after taking the vaccine. Treatment is an important protection against illness. Therefore, to avoid coronavirus infection, everyone should follow the mantra of social distancing and mask," he said.
The chief minister paid tributes to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule on his birth anniversary and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had organised the 4-day Tika Utsav from April 11, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, to the birth anniversary to Dr BR Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution, on April 14.
He said that a special vaccination campaign was being run in 6,000 centres in the state and Covid vaccine would be administered at 8,000 centres on Monday.
