CM unveils development projects worth Rs 84 cr for Ranchi city

Saturday, 24 July 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday launched development projects under Urban Development and Housing department worth

Rs  84 crore for Ranchi city and said that for overall development of the city public participation is also important apart from Government work. The development schemes of the Government keep on going continuously, but we will get the benefit of these schemes completely only when we become aware and play our important role in fulfilling the objectives of the Government.

“Ranchi city is the Capital of Jharkhand, the image of the Capital creates the image of the whole State. Today, the foundation stone of various development projects is being laid here for the beautification and strengthening of Ranchi city at a cost of Rs 84 crore. The thinking of our government is that any development plan should be for a long time, whose benefit can be availed not only by us but also for the coming generation. The scale of development should be ensured not by harming the environment but by balancing it with the environment,” he said while addressing the foundation stone laying programme of various development projects of Ranchi city organized at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium on Friday.

The CM said that it is the priority of the State Government to provide an attractive look by rejuvenating Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium and Bada Talab situated in the heart of Ranchi. The people who come to Ranchi from outside must visit these places once, with this thinking the state government is moving forward.

Soren said that the development plans should be prepared in coordination with the environment. He said, “If problems arise due to our reasons, then we also need to find solutions for them. Unseasonal rains, unseasonal floods, storms somewhere, epidemics are all examples of tampering or exploitation of the environment. There is a big difference between the environment of Ranchi 25-30 years ago and that of Ranchi at present. It is the effort of the State Government to make the city green by planting trees on the vacant lands inside the city, for this the department has also been directed. Not only with the efforts of the government, but also the general public should plant saplings in their wards, streets and localities, only then we will be able to fulfill the vision of a clean environment and a beautiful city. I think that in any government or private programme, the practice of giving bouquets as gifts should be abolished and the practice of giving saplings as gifts should be started.”

Appealing to the residents of the city, the CM said, “All of you should ensure your participation in the beautification and strengthening of Ranchi city. There are still many such wards, alleys and localities in Ranchi city where the roads are very narrow. Due to the narrow roads, even small vehicles are not able to reach the streets, so the residents of the city should make constant efforts to solve these problems and build houses by voluntarily leaving some land in front of their homes so that such problems can be avoided in future.”

“When you leave the land, you will also have the right that the government should build a road on that land. Big changes can be made only by taking care of the small things. The State Government is working to prepare a long-term action plan keeping in mind the future with commitment. The pressure of population in Ranchi city has increased very rapidly. Cars on the roads have also increased according to the population. In light rain, water starts flowing on the roads, due to light storms the power cuts. Along with accelerating the development works of Ranchi city, there is a need to keep a close watch on every aspect. All of us together will be able to give concrete shape to development works. Solve the problems by showing mutual coordination and understanding, only then things will improve,” he said.

The CM said that the foundation stone of various development projects in Ranchi city is being laid today. “I believe that if the funds of these development projects are used properly, then this amount can be equal to a thousand crores. People who are negligent on development projects will not be spared under any circumstances. Action will be taken if found guilty,” he added.

On this occasion, Ranchi MLA CP Singh, Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal and Deputy Mayor Ranchi Sanjeev Vijayvargiya spoke while addressing. On the occasion, Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, Vinay Kumar Choubey, Municipal Commissioner Mukesh Kumar along with various ward councilors of Ranchi and others were present.
