In an attempt to woo the young voters the Uttarakhand Congress has started a drive to register unemployed youth. The drive was launched in a programme of Youth Congress by the state in charge of the Congress party Devendra Yadav, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal and former PCC president Kishore Upadhyaya. The state media in charge of the Uttarakhand Congress Rajiv Mehrishi told The Pioneer that the party has released a phone number on which the unemployed can register themselves by giving a missed call. He said that the objective of the drive is to get data of the unemployed in the state. The Congress leader said that when the party comes to power in the state, efforts to provide employment to those registered in the drive would be made. Mehrishi added that a review meeting of the different committees of the party was held in Haridwar on Friday. He said that the progress of different committees constituted for elections were reviewed by senior leaders. The meeting was attended by Devendra Yadav, PCC President Ganesh Godiyal, co-in-charge Deepika Pandey, executive president Tilak Raj Behed, Rajya Sabha MP Pradeep Tamta, Kishore Upadhyaya and chairmen and convener of different committees.
