Debt-ridden family commits mass suicide at Ashok Vihar

Debt ridden family committed mass suicide by consuming cold drink laced with poison at Ashok Vihar colony; 67-year-old woman died late in the night on Thursday while 16-year-old girl died in the morning on Friday.

Apart from suicide note, reasons were written on walls and video, before committing suicide, was also made by family was found during the investigation. Police acted swiftly after video surfaced in the night on Thursday.

ASP Rajesh Singh Bhadauria said that a video surfaced on Thursday night. It was about the suicide of a family. Taking the seriousness of the matter, Piplani police was immediately sent to the spot. New Ashok Vihar Colony was the home of 47-year-old Sanjeev Joshi, who lived in Anand Nagar. Sanjeev is a mechanic by profession.

The family of mechanic Sanjeev Joshi committed suicide and  before the suicide, Sanjeev's elder daughter Grishma had sent a message to friends and relatives on WhatsApp. It also had a video, which had a picture of the family with a suicide note pasted on the wall. This was the last selfie before suicide.

Sanjeev Joshi ate poison along with his mother Nandini, wife Archana, two daughters Purvi, Grishma. Sanjeev’s eldest daughter wrote in the message that after I leave, give them severe punishment.  After reading Grishma's message, many friends who read with her immediately reached DC Goshale, Sanjeev's cousin living in Kalpana Nagar, by then the family members had consumed poison.

Grishma is a B.Tech second year student in a private engineering college. In the suicide note Babli , her daughter Rani and Urmila were claimed to be harassing family demanding return of borrowed money and alleged that three gang to dupe victims
