Exhorting doctor fraternity to constantly work for further the betterment of humanity, Punjab Medical Education and Research Minister Dr Raj Kumar Verka on Sunday said that research and suggestions received from the doctors would be carried forward to provide ultra-modern health facilities to the people of the State.
“Indian doctors have made their mark around the world and their work has become a beacon for the world,” said Dr Verka, while inaugurating 26th annual conference of Punjab Orthopedics Association ‘POACON-2021’ on the theme of ‘Life Is Movement and Movement Is Life’ organized by Department of Orthopedics, Government Medical College Amritsar under the Aegis of Medical Orthopedics Society.
Lauding the contribution of Amritsar Medical College in the field of health services, the Cabinet Minister categorically said: “Whatever constructive suggestions and research to be come out of the conference, I would carry it forward till its logical end so that Punjab could become a leading State in the medical field and people could be provided with better healthcare facilities.”
Dr Verka said that Amritsar Medical College has been the hub of research work and its doctors have proved their mettle not only in the country but abroad as well. He expressed hope that the medical fraternity will do more research to save precious human lives.
“Punjab Government is committed for all kinds of support of the doctor fraternity and will continue to take steps to provide better health facilities to the people with doctors' innovative research works,” said the Minister.
