The Directorate of Education (DoE) on Sunday decided to take over the management of Swami Shivanand Memorial for being arbitrary and violating rules. According to the Delhi Government, the school management was defying the Right to Education (RTE) rules and charging extra fees from students. The DoE also ordered an enquiry.
Notably, the DoE’s decision came after parents have filed their complaints against the management for charging extra fees from students.
According to parents, the management of the school, situated in Punjabi Bagh of West Delhi, has failed many students and asked parents to re-take the same grade intentionally.
“Taking into account the complaints of parents, Delhi Government constituted an inquiry committee for this matter.
The committee found inadequacies in the functioning of the school and found that the issues raised by parents about the school are true,” DoE said.
“Upon presenting the report, the school management was given a chance to defend itself but they were not able to give any reasonable answers about the anomalies in its functioning,” it added.
