Events to be held on World Tourism Day, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav gala on Sept 27

World Tourism Day is celebrated all across the World on September 27, This year UNWTO has designated World Tourism Day 2021 as a day to focus on “Tourism for Inclusive Growth”.

Keeping World Tourism Day (September 27, 2021) in mind and to celebrate “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is organising various events and activities in the State to promote State tourism and make people aware of the State's rich history, traditions, Cultural & National heritage, possibilities, tourism importance etc. and to enhance their tourism knowledge.

In this context an experts’ session has been organized in Minto Hall, Bhopal (M.P.) on September 27, 2021 to understand the opportunities, possibilities, growth of the tourism industry, and to recognize the challenges and difficulties we are facing and how to overcome these difficulties.

The event will be inaugurated by Usha Thakur, Minister Tourism, Culture and Spirituality, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, Guest of Honour Junhi Han, Chief Culture, UNESCO, New Delhi.

Members of Travel Trade Associations, Hotel Associations, Art and Craft experts, Agri Tourism, Home Stay experts are invited to attend the session and provide their valuable suggestions and inputs to promote tourism in Madhya Pradesh.

Along with the Expert Session other events like Rock Art trail on 26th September 26 at Buffer Zone of Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary, Yoga and Zumba Session on September 27 at Boat Club, Bhopal. Illumination of Minto Hall and Boat Club has been planned.

Sheo Shekhar Shukla, IAS, Principal Secretary, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Department of Tourism, Culture and Public Relations and Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board said "Tourism does not just help bring back the happy moments in our lives. It rather plays an important role in the social, cultural, political and economic development of any country. In today's time, the first need of every country is to strengthen the economy, Madhya Pradesh tourism Board is also making its efforts to make people familiar with the State’s tourism culture and can invite more and more tourists to Madhya Pradesh."

S Vishwanathan, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh State Development Corporation said MPSTDC is always ready to welcome the tourists; we have done all the necessary arrangements for organizing Yoga and Zumba Sessions at our Boat Club and Wind and Waves Restaurant, Bhopal, we are providing attractive 25% discount on food and lodging for all the guests on the occasion of World Tourism Day.

Madhya Pradesh is a versatile State having variety of tourism products, we have activity filled tourist destinations, Wildlife safaris, land, water and air adventure activities, Cuisines, Heritage, Tribal culture, Handicrafts, Wellness and Mindful Tourism to explore and experience.

We have adopted sustainable and Responsible tourism practices in the State. We are promoting the state as the destination that fits into the frame of experiential activities.
