Fisheries Officer held taking Rs 1.10L bribe

Vigilance officials on Tuesday arrested Surendra Ghadei, District Fisheries Officer, Mayurbhanj, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1.10 lakh. According to reports, official had demandedamount from one Dhurjati Das for issuance of a work order for fish farming in Hatchery Project.

Das lodged a complaint in this regard with anti-corruption agency, following which a trap was laid and Ghadei was caught red-handed by  Vigilance officers while accepting illegal gratification from complainant at District Fisheries Office, Baripada.
