Five drug peddlers nabbed; over 19 kg cannabis worth Rs 2L seized

A joint team of Madhotal police station and Crime Branch have arrested five drug peddlers and recovered 19.7 kg of Cannabis worth Rs 2 lakh, a bus, two motorbikes, Rs 13200 cash  and five mobile phones from their possession.

Acting on a tip off regarding bus carrying drugs and two bikes which were scheduled to transport drugs near Deendayal bus stand and arrested the accused while they were unloading drugs.

The five accused were identified as Aniket alias Annu Patel,  Addu alias Aditya Burman, Mathura Prasad Namdev, Kamal Singh and Suraj Yadav.

Police found that the accused used to illegally transported narcotic substances from one state to another state in buses and later motor cycles were used to sell in different places in local areas.

Meanwhile under the strict instructions by the Madhya Pradesh government to the administration and police department to take strict action against land mafia and miscreants a  joint team of police and administration and municipal corporation removed encroachment on 7 acres of ceiling land worth Rs 28 crores on Wednesday.

The action was taken in the presence of Collector Jabalpur Karmaveer Sharma and Superintendent of Police Jabalpur Siddhartha Bahuguna encroachment land worth Rs 16 crores was freed from encroachment  which was encroached by Mohammad Yusuf.

The 4 acres of land was sold by Yusuf as plots but the land was government and accused has cheated with the victims by claiming that he owned the land. 

On the land, a two-storey and a single story house was constructed by 6 people at a cost of about           Rs 1 crore and the foundation of 4 houses had been constructed.

Similarly, by Mukesh Sharma, a resident of Suhagi, about 2 acres of land, 1 acre land of by Abrar Hussain, whose estimated cost is about Rs 12 crore and Godown at a cost and the foundation was laid at a cost of Rs 50 lakh, was also demolished.
