Folk dance, music performed at Tribal Museum

Folk dance and music was performed on Wednesday at Madhya Pradesh State Tribal Museum.

Ganesha Gurjar and group, Khandwa Dara performed the 'verse of Nimari saints' and Baiga tribal dance 'Karama' was performed by  Devi Singh and Sathi Dindori.

Ganesh Gurjar and group started performing with Ganesh Vandana - Ganapati's Laga Paya and it was followed by birth in Khajuri, guru ghar chakar raga, Sidhi Bane Padgundi Guruji, Dulav Vanya Ray Maharaj, Obey Ray Bachan Hamaro, Guru Mukh Govind and Guru.

He was accompanied on Harmonium  by Sivaram Thakur, on tabla by Dhannalal Daksay, on chorus, by Tarachand Khede, on Dholak by Krishna Kumar Dongre and on Jhanj by Devidas Shriwas.

 Gurjar started singing in the rural environment since childhood, you have been performing on many prestigious forums in the country for the last twenty years.

The second performance was Baiga tribal dance 'Karama' by Devi Singh and colleagues.

According to the tradition of Baiga Tribal, on the fourth day of the tariff of the month of Bhadon, people worship their respective Ishta Dev, the total deities and eat them. From the same day, Karma performs dance and song.

This dance-song continues till Shukla Paksha i.e. Bidri Puja of Jyestha month. In it, mandar, timki and flute are the main musical instruments. Men- Jhaga dances with kurta, jackets, fenta, peacock crested in the head and slapping in the hands. Women- Mungi sari, blouse, Biranmala, Morpunkh Kalgi dance feet with feet, garland and neck in neck and slit in hand.
