Forest Dept seizes tiger skin trophy

The Chhattisgarh Forest Department on Wednesday seized a decorative tiger skin trophy during a search in the state capital.

Acting on a tip, forest officials made the seizure from the house of Manmeet Kaur Namdeo near Nakti village, a press release said.

Raipur DFO (Divisional Forest Officer) Vishvesh Jha said the length of the tiger skin trophy is 2.82 meters and its roundness is 1.35 meters.

The action was taken under the Wildlife Protection Act, which bars people from buying or getting any captive animal, wild animal or any animal    article or trophy except from those authorized to sell them.
