In view of shortage of hospital beds for Covid patients in Gurugam, the deputy commissioner, Dr Yash Garg has directed hospitals to increase the number of beds reserved for Covid patients to “at least 60%” of beds under general category and 75% of total bed capacity of ICU and Ventilator beds.
Moreover, the data of available beds will have to be uploaded on the platform ‘onemapggm.gmda.gov.in’ of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) by the hospitals.
The order was issued under the epidemic diseases Act-1897 and sub-section-2 of the Disaster Management Act-2005.
“We have directed all the hospitals to provide services including human resources and logistics ie doctors, paramedical staff, medicine, ICU, ambulance etc. Apart from this information about the number of patients and available beds, etc., will be updated on a daily basis on the GMDA platform,” Garg said.
However, the district's top hospitals, both private and government, have got no ICU, ventilator beds empty.
Officials, however, have assured that they are making every effort to increase the number of beds in Gurugram district.
Recently the deputy commissioner had appointed 22 nodal officers for 41 private/government covid hospitals in across the district to check availability of beds in hospitals.
Apart from this, the city had recorded 4,319 fresh coronavirus cases on Friday. The district's COVID toll reached to 410. The active cases in the district stand at 20,760 while a total of 19,667 patients currently in home isolation.
