Chhattisgarh Governor Anusuiya Uike will unfurl the National Flag in the state capital on Republic Day on January 26 while following the Corona guidelines, it was announced on Thursday.
She will take a guard of honour and address the people of the state, a press release said.
In view of the main Republic Day function to be held in Raipur from 9 am, the flag hoisting ceremony in government offices has to be done before 8 so that their officers and staff can join the main event, the release added.
Corona warriors including doctors, policemen and health and sanitary workers will be honored at the function.
Raipur Collector Dr Solai Bharathi Dasan said no public function will be held at district panchayat and tehsil levels.
The flag hoisting ceremony will be done by the district panchayat president at the district panchayat offices while the tri-colour will be unfurled by the Mayor and Presidents in the civic bodies, the press release said.
School students will not attend in the flag hoisting at district, block and panchayat levels while cultural programmes will not be organized, it added.
The Corona scare will mean limited number of invitees, social distancing and other protocols at the main event.
