Haryana Deputy CM directs officers on smooth Rabi crop procurement

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala on Thursday directed the officers concerned that farmers should not face any inconvenience in mandis during the procurement of Rabi crops, adding that registration for the procurement will begin on January 11 on the 'Meri Fasal Mera Byora' portal.

Chautala, who also holds the portfolio of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, said this while presiding over a review meeting regarding arrangements of Rabi Procurement Season-2021-22 with the officers. In the meeting, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, V. Umashankar, Additional Chief Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, P K Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, Devender Singh, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Ashima Brar among other senior officers were present.

The Deputy CM directed the officers to conduct a survey of barley crop in the state so that State Government can consider its procurement if necessary. 

He made it clear to the officers that during the procurement season 2021-22 of Rabi crop, the crop coming to the mandis should be procured and lifted as soon as possible for the convenience of the farmers.

 He also directed that after the procurement of the crop, the farmers’ payment should be transferred to their bank accounts within the stipulated period.

He took detailed information about the preparations being made regarding every process, from crop weighing to packing and transportation, and also gave his suggestions.

This time the State Government has fixed the Minimum Support Price of wheat at Rs. 1975 per quintal, Rs. 1600 per quintal for barley, Rs. 5100 per quintal for gram and masur (lentils), Rs. 4650 per quintal for mustard and Rs. 5327 per quintal for sunflower.
